In six whimsical half-hour installments, Kira shows us what life is like on islands in the Western Hemisphere’s developed world that have managed to keep a well-worn foot in the past by restricting or forbidding the use of motorized vehicles.

Forty-five minutes from New York City, Fire Island is a ribbon of sand featuring 17 very different and distinct communities, including the famous gay and lesbian enclaves of Cherry Grove and Fire Island Pines.
