PBS NewsHour plans to provide primetime coverage and analysis of the in-person and virtual proceedings of the 2020 Democratic National Convention August 17-20, 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the 2020 Republican National Convention August 24-27, 2020, as details of the parties’ respective events take shape.

Broadcast coverage is anticipated to run from 6pm to 9pm on Rocky Mountain PBS, each night of the conventions.

Coverage will extend to PBS NewsHour’s digital and social platforms, including livestreams of both NewsHour’s anchored coverage and the full convention feed.

  • Plans for these events have been fluid. We will provide updated information if the programming plan changes.
  • The DNC has said its official events will be from 9-11pm Eastern Time, so the first hour of coverage will include reporting and analysis from the NewsHour team, newsmaker guests and panelists. We do not yet have such details from the RNC.
  • Coverage will also be available on pbs.org/newshour, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. Digital programming will include a digital pre-show ahead of the broadcast programming.
