Healthcare Insights:

Healthcare is a fast growing career sector and need in Colorado. In 2024, 744,000 Colorado jobs were in Healthcare, up from 658,000 in 2022. In just one year, Healthcare careers grew from 15% to 17.6% of total Colorado employment, nearly 1 in 5 Colorado jobs. The need for qualified workers in health care careers is expected to increase over the next decade as demand for care continues to rise.

Colorado Health Care Career Needs

-According to Colorado Rural Health Center reports, the need for health care workers is much greater in rural Colorado counties than un the urban areas.
-Most Colorado counties do not have a registered pediatrics M.D., gynecology or obstetrics M.D., or hospital/birth center access.
-Eleven counties have no registered active dentists. Recruitment for an advanced practice nurse or physician’s assistant in rural areas took 6 months on average as of 2022.
-Health care careers are in great demand in Colorado!
